Are you taking ownership for your emotions and behaviours?

Are you in control of your emotions, or do you often find yourself saying, "They made me feel this way"?

In the latest episode of my podcast. Just For Today, I challenge this common notion and invite my listeners to explore the power of personal responsibility.

As a very experiences Therapeutic Mentor, I delve into the intricate dance between our reactions and the actions of others. And with my (hopefully) warm and engaging approach, I share personal anecdotes and professional insights that shine a light on the importance of owning our emotional triggers.

As the conversation unfolds, I confront the misconception that others control our feelings, and I argue that while we cannot control what others say or do, we are entirely responsible for how we choose to respond. This perspective is especially relevant in today's digital age, where social media interactions can quickly spiral into negativity.

Through this episode I reveal how I have navigated uncomfortable situations, from confronting situations on social media to ending a long-standing friendship. In the hope that these examples will illustrate important lessons on setting boundaries, engaging in constructive conflict, and practicing self-compassion.

The episode is not just about reflection; it's a call to action as I encourage my listeners to take ownership of their thoughts and feelings and to engage in the healing work necessary to grow, and I pose a challenge: "Just for today’, to think about something someone else has done recently that has caused you to feel a certain way, and explore how you can heal from that.

This episode is a must-listen for anyone looking to live more intentionally and cultivate a sense of empowerment in their lives. So join me, Steph Grainger, as I guide you through the complexities of human emotions and how to stand firm in our truth.
